There are many reasons why regular activity improves your health. Being active not only improves our health but it also improves our overall well being, mental health and quality of life.
Exercise keeps us fit, gives us more strength, helps with endurance and stamina and improves our overall ability to function. Exercise is also great for enhancing our mood! It is a great natural stress reliever, and a way to combat anger and depression.
Active movement can decrease the risk of heart disease and stroke as well. Too many sedentary activities is not a good thing and can lead to stiffness, sore joints and limited flexibility.

The American Heart Association recommends about 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity five days a week. If you are having a hard time getting to the gym, are having a hard time setting aside time in your busy schedule to fit it in, or don’t belong to a gym at all, there are many workouts that can be done at home or while traveling that require little to no equipment.
Here’s a great workout to get you started! Just grab a deck of cards and get to work! Modify the movements to match your ability and start with a ½ deck if you’d like!
Top it off with an ab cool down and a nice stretch and always remember to drink plenty of water!
